To check the efficiency of Etihad Rail, the first train was launched on 30 June 2026. The route of the first Etihad train was from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah.  2 classes were defined in the train. Comfort class tickets with 50% off were available at AED 55. However, the premium class ticket was available at AED 120. The whole scheme of the rail network covers a 900km area. It will cover Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Fujairah stations till March 2027.

Major Stations of Etihad Rail

A large number of stations are located in the Abu Dhabi Emirate. Fujairah and Abu Dhabi have one station located in each. However, Sharjah has 2 etihad train stations.

Capacity of Etihad Train

The trains were designed to get most of the passengers in the most suitable way. 400 passengers can travel at the same time through Etihad Rail. A total of 13 trains were launched with this capacity. A total of 4 phases were decided to launch rail stations from June 2026 to March 2027.

Etihad Ticket Cost and Class Types

Etihad Rail has 2 classes for traveling passengers. Both are made to provide maximum comfort to passengers as per their preferences and choice.

  • Comfort class

It runs from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah. Its initial ticket cost is AED 55.

  • Premium Class: 

Same route with a different luxury status, and the cost is AED 120.

Western Abu Dhabi route

High-Speed Etihad Rail (a Separate Project)

Another rail running between Abu Dhabi and dubai based on a separate project of etihad train. It will travel at a speed of 350km/h. Such a high-speed train reaches 30 minutes earlier than a standard train. The launch date of this project is still not confirmed. 

As per official calculations of the Etihad Rail project, it is expected to target 36 million passengers per year by 2030.

The price of an Etihad Rail ticket from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah is AED 55 for comfort class and AED 120 for premium class. At the launch of the first Etihad Rail, a discount of 50% was introduced on fares.

The location of the Dubai Etihad Rail station is Jumeirah Golf Estates. The station is located along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in southern Dubai. It will open on September 30, 2026. Arrangements for buses and taxis are made through RTA. Per Dubai’s 2032 rail network plan, this station will also connect to the existing Metro Red Line and the upcoming Gold Line. 

The route from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah will be covered within 1 hour and 45 minutes at a speed of 200km/h. The route was launched on 30 June 2026 and is the only operational station. It covers the area between Mohammed Bin Zayed City station in Abu Dhabi and Al Hilal station in Fujairah.
